Getting drunk from Twitter is now easier than ever
Despite the fact that Twitter is slowly getting a bad rap compared to other social networks, we still genuinely enjoy using it. If Koi Koi Design's product, Data Cocktail, that helps you create an algorithmic cocktail based on Twitter mentions and hashtags, doesn't bring the user base Twitter expects, maybe nothing will.
Jokes aside, Data Cocktail is a pretty cool piece of tech. When a cocktail is desired, the machine will look for the five latest messages around the world quoting one of the available ingredients. These messages will define the drink composition.
The system accepts either words (e.g. chocolate or vodka), hashtags (e.g. #BatmanvSuperman or #CES2016) or mentions (e.g. @10stunninghomes or @KoiKoiDesign). If you thought you could get your guests drunk by setting the word 'twitter', unfortunately that's the only word that cannot be picked, which is kind of a bummer.
In its current configuration, Data Cocktail may provide up to 6 different ingredients, corresponding to 6 different Twitter requests. However, the device could potentially propose more. Moreover, cocktails usually contain 5 doses, a number that can be modified on demand.
All of this sounds pretty cool but the machine has another party piece. Data Cocktail not only provides a unique kind of drink, but it also prints the cocktail’s recipe along with the corresponding tweets.
Naturally, you'll want one. Unfortunately, Data Cocktail is mainly geared towards events at the moment. #sad
