Hamwells’ e-Shower will let you save 90 percent more water but it will cost you, A LOT

A $3200 smart shower that recycles water

Water saving showers and accessories are slowly but surely becoming more and more of a thing. In August, the $400 Nebia water-saving shower head raised over $2 million in funding through its Kickstarter campaign. It didn't hurt that Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, backed up the product and possibly launched a trend for bathrooms of the future.

Not to be outdone, Hamwells launched the e-Shower, a product that promises to beat Nebia's 70 percent water saving capability by an additional 20 percent. In addition to the higher water saving figures this smart shower promises to reduce your energy consumption by 80 percent.

The ways in which Nebia and Hamwells' e-Shower save water are significantly different. Nebia shower head uses aerospace-grade spray nozzles that atomize water, allowing for a smaller volume of H20 to get you just as wet, while the e-Shower recycles what normally goes down the drain.

Used water gets filtered and mixed with about 1.5 liters of fresh water each minute. That mixture gets hit with UV light before raining down on your head again.

The technology doesn't stop there, since the whole front panel of the device is also a Bluetooth speaker. Simply connect your phone to the unit before you get in and you'll be able to enjoy the morning radio or Spotify playlist of your choice. Four buttons on the side of the display will also let you activate / deactivate the smart shower and provide you with granular control of the water temperature.
